 Museum of Country Life:    Relive life in rural Ireland in the 19th and 20th centuries at the award winning Museum of Country Life, Turlough. Foxford Woollen Mills: Experience the working of a traditional woollen mill through an ingenious tour bringing history to life. See gold and silversmiths at work in the jewellery workshop. Marian Shrine, Knock:     On August 21st, 1879 Our Lady and St. Joseph appeared to 15 local people at the village of Knock. Since then this shrine  attracts more than 1.5  million people annually and is a focal point of devotion for Irish Catholics. Knock is  sacred place, a place of peace. Michael Davitt Museum:

Ceide Fields:    The Ceide Fields are the oldest known field systems in the world, dating back over five and a half thousand years. Megalithic tombs, stone age field systems, dwelling areas and monuments from 5,000 years ago have been excavated from under the peat of the "Ceide Fields" of North Mayo. Croagh Patrick:    Pilgrims from all over Ireland climb this mountain on which St. Patrick (the patron saint of Ireland) spent 40 days fasting in 414AD.  The mountain provides a challenging climb and rewards the climber with spectacular views of Clew Bay and the surrounding countryside. www.croagh-patrick.com A visitor centre, restaurant, Murrisk Abbey and the National Famine Monument are located near the base of the mountain.
